Tips for being in front of a camera

I know it can get a little intimidating but with a little bit of practice comes ease and you will be able to hear the word photoshoot without cringing. So here are some tips and suggestions to assist you while you get ready. Doesn’t have to be in same order.

Take a deep breath and relax.

Breathing is the foundation of life, so if you can not focus on anything else, focus on your breathing.

There is no pressure.

Remember that you don’t have to be perfect.

It’s nice to stretch before, so full movement can be captured.

Do you know it takes about 18 mins for a person to become comfortable in front of the camera?

If you are able to use props, please go for it.

Keep an intention in mind, remembering the purpose of the shoot is helpful to ground yourself.

Stay hydrated. H20 at all times, not just when you have important events to attend.

Get out of your head and get out of your own way. I stay this because sometimes it would be us who blocks our own blessing, but no today, not anymore!

Try everything, experiment.

Try new things, forget if you look silly or not. You'll never know which photo will come out the best. For me, it’s always the photo that felt the most awkward, so keep an open perspective for full poses.

Remember that you are just as important to the team! If you are the one in front of that camera, it’s all about you for the session.

Play some music, dance, flow, light vibes.

All that is fun but stay on task, money and time are on the line.

So stay safe and have fun!!!
